The Wind Tunnel at the Science Road show

I am cold because of the fan. 

The fan made wind. 

It made me cold.

The Science Road Show Farming Game

I like the farming game and the game is fun because

the truck went to the farm to get the milk.

Cupcakes

This Discovery Time, we made soft and light cupcakes.

They were really delicious and everyone had three to four

cupcakes. We used food colouring in them, I called

mine Slime because it was green.

We added butter flour, egg, milk, sugar.

When we cooked them in the oven. There

were red, green and yellow cupcakes.

Discovery time

Today during Discovery Time we were allowed to make cupcakes.
We used butter, milk, eggs, sugar and food colouring to make delicious cupcakes.
I made one that was green and two that were plain.
My green one is made using blue and yellow.
I made my two plain ones by not using food colouring.
I named my green cupcake Shrek because it was the same colour as Shrek.

Fonterra Science Roadshow

On the 15th of March the kids of Makuri School went to the Science
 Roadshow in Pahiatua. We were shown lots of amazing things
 and mini machines. The hosts did two shows, in the second show
 the lady put a big tube, with red liquid inside it on the table,
 then she tipped white powder in the tube. When the powder
 fell into the liquid, a big pink worm of foam flew out of the
 tube and into the tub. It looked absolutley amazing!!

Science Roadshow

On the 15th of March 2012 Makuri School went to the Science Roadshow in Pahiatua. When we got there we went inside the hall and sat down. First they had a little show, then we went around most of the exhibits and one of them was a wind tunnel. If you wanted to go in the wind tunnel you had to put on saftey glasses on and then step into the tunnel. It was very noisy because of the wind blowing very hard.

The Big Challenge

On Monday 13th February it was technology day. 

All the kids that didn't go to technology this afternoon did "THE BIG CHALLENGE" where we split up into two groups and tried to make a tower using only paper, string, sellotape, and scissors. 

But it couldn't be attached to the ground and it had to stand without holding it 

and it couldn't be leaning on anything. 

So Liam and I rolled up some paper and stuck the rolled up paper inside each paper roll.

Challange

At school today we had to make a flagpole with only

using newspaper,sellotape and a flag that flew at the top.

Also it had to be standing up when the time was up (which was 20 min).

It was quite hard but in the end we got the flagpole up.

This is the flagpole that Ross and I made.The flag has N.Z on it.

Books

The School Library is an awesome place because

every Friday we go return and renew our books.

Even though the library it's self is small we still find books to enjoy.

This year we got new books in library with Super Dipper Baby too.
We can't wait till we can read the books in there.
Plus we got more shelves to put the more books on.

Last year we got some books from Tiraumea School  about motocross, BMX and more!
